The Technobell‘s Continuous Filament Winding (CFW) machine is specially designed for the continuous production of Glass Reinforced Polyester (GRP) pipes, also known as Fibre Reinforced Polyester (FRP) pipes. This technology utilizes an “endless” mandrel – a continuously rotating core – to deposit layers of polyester resin, glass fibers, and silica sand, creating a robust composite pipe structure. The entire process is controlled by an advanced Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), ensuring high precision and quality.
Advantages of Technobell’s CFW Technology
CFW technology offers several benefits over alternative methods such as centrifugal casting and discontinuous filament winding, including:
- High production capacity.
- Reduced production costs.
- Consistently high-quality pipes.
- Elevated levels of automation.
- Wide range of pipe diameters (300 – 4000 mm):
CFW 200-1200 Production Line
CFW 300-2600 Production Line
CFW 300-3000 Production Line
CFW 400-4000 Production Line
GRP Pipes Advantages
GRP pipes, produced with the CFW technology, combine excellent corrosion resistance of plastic pipes with good mechanical properties of steel and concrete pipes thus successfully replacing other piping materials, such as concrete, fibre cement, steel, ductile iron, PVC and HDPE in the following applications:
- Sewage networks.
- Storm water networks.
- Irrigation lines.
- Distribution of potable water.
- Cooling lines in power plants.
- Sea water intakes and outfalls.
- Industrial water transportation lines.
- Sea and river crossing lines.
- Mining material conveying lines.
Sustainable GRP Pipes
By building new infrastructure or replacing existing pipelines with GRP pipes we contribute to environment preservation:
- GRP pipes have a very long service life compared to other piping materials. Because of this, we significantly reduce the number of interventions needed to replace or maintain our pipelines.
- GRP pipes are not subject to corrosion. Corrosion makes pipelines leak and by using GRP pipes we avoid losing clean water or polluting the soil with sewage.
- GRP pipes have a smoother inner surface compared to other piping materials. We therefore use less energy to transport fluids through GRP pipes.
